Feeding can be quickly stopped and even reversed, if required. Thus any material can be easily withdrawn from between the feed rollers. The feed speed is continuously adjustable. The large feed orifice and toothed feed rollers will accept even trees complete with branches. Fig 3. The DC 100 MF has a manual feed. The feed chute leeds directly into the chipping disc, where the knives pull in the stems without any pushing by the operator.

Its massive chipping disc with four knives will turn out chips at a maximum rate of 26 cu. yds (20 cu. meters) per hour. The flywheel-type disc maintains its speed irrespective of the working load. It will therefore blow the chips out to a height of 21 ft (7m). The chip length can be adjusted. It can be additionally increased by removing two of the four chipping knives from the diagonally opposite positions of the chipping disc. Three different versions of the DC 100 are available. Two of them have a hydraulic feed. Two toothed rollers feed the tree into the chipper with an even speed. The hydraulic feed is especially useful when whole trees with limbs on, or seperate limbs, e.g. logging residue is being chipped. Noise level is kept to a minimum during operation. A grinding device for sharpening the knives is available as an option. The hydraulic feed rollers of the DC 100 HF are powered by the tractor remote hydraulics. A single-acting hook-up with an oil flow of 3,3-11 GPM (Imp.)(15-50 l/min) is required.
